The Neighborhood Learning Center is looking for tutors, especially for our afternoon sessions. During the summer we meet from 10:00am to 2:00pm Monday through Thursday. In the fall, we will return to our school year schedule and will be open 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Food is flying off the shelves this summer as we help those in need. You can also help by donating non-perishable food items to the Food Pantry. We are especially in need of spaghetti sauce, canned tuna, muffin mixes, canned ravioli, Spaghettios, canned fruits and vegetables, beef stew, dry pasta, pancake mix and syrup Please place items in the bins designated for the Food Pantry. If it is more convenient, you may write a check and put “Food Pantry” in the memo section and we will purchase food with the proceeds.

Looking for a simple way to get more involved in the church? If so, prayerfully consider Ushering. We have a need for new ushers at both our Saturday evening and Sunday morning services. The commitment is generally 1 week per month, and is a very simple way to contribute in a very important way. Eastbrook Academy is accepting resumes for the 2012-13 school year: Full-time Physical Education Teacher. Eastbrook Academy is a ministry of Eastbrook Church and supports families from diverse backgrounds in the academic and spiritual development of their children for college preparation and life. Mark your calendars for July 3 when the Nations ministry will gather at Milwaukee’s lakefront for picnicking, games, and watching the spectacular fireworks display in the evening. We will be located on the east side of the lagoon: enter at Veteran’s Park and walk north. We will have a large tent and volleyball net set up. Grills will be available; please bring your own meat and beverages, as well as a side dish/dessert to share. Invite your international friends to celebrate the Independence Day and participate in traditional American Fourth of July activities.

Applications are now being taken for the 2012-13 Living Waters ministry for relational and sexual wholeness. Many marriages have been helped, individuals have experienced healing from childhood traumas, and broken relational patterns have been transformed by the power of prayer and the teachings. The College-Age Sunday school class will begin this Sunday, July 1, 9:30-10:45am in E228 with Pastor Jim Vining.

Orchestra Camp is July 9-13; 9:00am to noon, for instrumentalists in grades 4-8 and Suzuki string students grades 2-8. All instruments in the orchestra, including strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, and piano will be involved. There will be private lesson instruction and sectionals taught by the extremely gifted musicians that play with the Worship Orchestra, as well as fun events, snacks, and outdoor games.
