Home » About » Residency & Internship Program

We at Eastbrook Church want to help young leaders in the development of their calling, character and competency through their connection and contribution to Eastbrook Church. We do this through two distinct programs: Summer Internships and Year-Long Ministry Residents.

    SUMMER INTERNSHIPS

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SUMMER 2017
Summer interns (High School Graduates) become an integral part of the staff under a direct supervisor in a particular ministry area (children’s ministry, communication, worship, etc.). Interns are encouraged to get to know the other summer interns for encouragement, collaboration and friendship. There will be a pastoral director for all of the interns who will meet with them as a group and help them process the experiences of the summer, both as a group and individually. Internships are unpaid. Flexible Application Deadline: May 1, 2017.

    Pastoral Care Intern

An ideal candidate would be someone who wants to gain experience in working with support groups such as Celebrate Recovery, GriefShare, DivorceCare, etc. and who is also interested in hospital visitation, funeral planning and pastoral counseling. An intern in pastoral care would assist the Pastor of Congregational Care in these tasks and participate fully in the life of the Eastbrook Church Staff.

    Children's Ministry Intern

An ideal candidate would be someone desiring to gain experience in child education in an alternative setting (that is, a non-day school setting). This could be someone who is majoring in education, social work, or educational ministries. This person should be a committed believer and have demonstrated ability in working with children. Responsibilties would include assisting in the planning and carrying out of our VBS ministry; rotating observation or assisting in classrooms of all age departments from nursery to 6th grade; possibly coordinating and leading training sessions for youth children's ministry workers; engaging in cross-cultural children's ministry on the south side.

    International Outreach Intern

Interns will engage in the International Language Center on the south side (ILC) supporting outreach to refugees including children's camps, tutoring at the ILC, and growing relationship in refugee homes through home visits. Other duties might include supporting the day to day needs of the ILC's director.

    Design/Communication Intern

An ideal candidate will be a creative individual who is pursing deeper understanding of the integration of faith and art/design. Interns will engage with the creative process in their chosen field (graphic design, photography, web design, fine art, writing, communication, etc.) and will seek to communicate effectively through their medium. Interns report to the Director of Communication and should be passionate about using creativity to further the Kingdom of God.
