Born and raised in the great state of Wisconsin, Laura spent her childhood frolicking about the fields of Sheboygan, diligently studying alongside her fellow schoolmates at Fears Academy of Excellence (an institution that doubled as her home), and engaging in extracurricular activities such as tackle football, frog catching, and massive pancake breakfasts. From the earliest days of her childhood she began to develop a love for music and specifically the piano. Upon entering high school, she was encouraged to use her musical gifts for the worship services at the Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church. The love and support she received there greatly nourished and developed not only her love of music, but also her love for worship.
In 2009, Laura decided to pack up camp and move to the great and exciting state of Indiana where she would study worship ministry at Huntington University. Immediately sensing that this was where God desired her to be at the time, she poured her whole self into her time at Huntington. With an amazing Christian community to love and encourage her, she simply flourished. She found many opportunities to grow and develop her gifts, including playing on the worship team at her church and joining a traveling worship band called Cai. As much as she loved Huntington, the time came for her to leave and pour herself into a completely new environment.
Now in her senior year of college, Laura moved back to her home state where she is carrying out a seven-month internship, called PRIME, at Eastbrook Church. Shortly after starting in May, she fell head-over-heels in love with the church and the many amazing people she is blessed to serve with. As an intern, she has the opportunity to be involved in all different aspects of ministry, but her main concentration is in Worship, Music, and Arts. She will remain at Eastbrook until the end of December, whereupon she will return to Huntington to complete her degree.
