Bible Explorers

1st & 2nd Graders

During the early elementary years, students are natural explorers. In Sunday school the students are encouraged to explore various stories from scripture, find truths there and apply them to their lives. We use curriculum from Gospel Light Publishing. During one year the material will help children to see God’s big picture (an overview of scripture). The other year is focused on the fruits of the Spirit. During the 2nd-grade year the children will memorize the Lord’s Prayer and complete a unit on prayer that is one of the Faith-marker events.

We welcome and encourage you to have your child at the entire Sunday School time (8:30 - 10:45) or to participate in just the 8:30–9:30 or the 9:30–10:45 time slots. Bible Explorers are encouraged to also participate in our worship services with their parents. They are dismissed to Sunday school class from the 1st service at 8:30 and to children’s choir from the 3rd service at 11:30. Special events

Three times during the year a special event is planned for children in 1st - 2nd grade.
In fall we often plan a heavenly party where children can come dressed as a character from scripture who has gone to heaven. . If your child is registered or attends Sunday School regularly they will receive information as these events near.
