Club 56

5th and 6th graders

5th and 6th grades are times for growing, just as Jesus as a preteen of 12 grew. Check this out in your Bible: Luke 2:52. Club 56 uses this verse as the club’s theme. So what is Club 56? It’s the name for all the different opportunities at Eastbrook for 5th and 6th graders. Don’t miss this chance for your preteen to grow in wisdom (we’ve got lots of places to learn what the Bible says and to apply those truths); stature (okay, they;re going to grow physically no matter what, but we do help out by feeding them at most events and throwing in some physical activities to keep them moving); favor with God (we are always talking to God at Club 56 events, keeping a good relationship with Him is most important) and men (this means being good friends with each other!)

Sunday School Classes

8:30-10:40

Christian Basics: 6th graders are ready to think about what they believe and why they believe it. Up to this point Sunday school classes have focused mostly on learning the Bible stories. Now the students are challenged to take a serious look at who God is in their lives. The class tackles concerns such as the Trinity, sin and salvation, defending your faith, maintaining a prayer life, what makes Christians different from others, how to have a personal Bible study, church history, and what do we at Eastbrook believe. The faith-marker event for this age group is a class that prepares students for baptism.

Bible Survey

5th graders have heard a lot of bible stories in Sunday School. This year you will learn how it all fits together in the Bible. They will study the writers of scripture as well as the various styles and themes of each of the books of the bible. In the end , we hope, they will see the over all themes of scripture. The faith-marker event for this age group is a class that prepares students for baptism.
During the last half of the 3rd service Club 56 kids can participate as part of the Jubilate Choir. This is a great opportunity to learn about worship and music. Please see the section of this site that gives more details about the Children’s choirs.

Fall Retreat

In November an overnight retreat is planned for a Club 56 retreat. This is a time for 5th and 6th graders to grow closer to God and to each other (growing inY favor with God and Men). All Club 56ers are encouraged to attend. Scholarships are available if needed.

Communion Sundays

The first Sunday of the month Eastbrook celebrates communion during worship. Club 56 Sunday School classes will not begin until 9:30 so that kids can celebrate communion with the church body. We ask families to sit with their children or find another family for their child to sit with. This is a great way to learn how to listen to a sermon. We encourage you to discuss the sermon with your children.

Special Events

During the year several special events are planned just for Club 56 kids. Be sure you are on our mailing list so that you get notice of these events.
