Who We Are
Welcome to the Eastbrook Church web site. As Pastor, let
me assure you that your presence here now is both a joy and
a challenge. It is a joy, because we have discovered the overflowing
life available through fellowship with Jesus Christ and we
love to share it. It is a challenge, because we are just beginning
to learn how to serve each other and we want to learn how
to serve you also.
We want you to know as much about Jesus as possible, and
to accomplish this we provide consistent exposition of Scripture
during worship services and in-depth study through our Christian
Education classes. In addition, Kinship Groups have been established
throughout the city to provide warm, caring fellowship and
encouragement to all who attend. We also have many special
interest groups that meet throughout the week for fellowship
and spiritual encouragement. There are countless opportunities
for you to get involved and serve in the Church.
Eastbrook is constrained by the Great Commission of our Lord
and is actively engaged in a growing ministry of identifying
unreached areas of the world and supporting missionaries who
go there. In addition, there are Outreach Ministries to various
needy areas of our city. Participation in the life of the
Church is dependent on your allegiance to Jesus Christ as
Lord and Savior. If you have not yet committed yourself to
Jesus, we invite you at attend as often as you like and trust
we can be an encouragement to you to get to know Him better.
We have agreed to a Doctrinal Statement and Church Constitution
based on Christian truths and principle. We are aware that
many godly people disagree with us on minor issues. We recognize
that all churches in the city are Christ's and we intend to
respect and encourage them all.
One truth we wish to stress early in a Christian's walk is
the glorious truth that Christ indwells each believer. When
we confess Him, He enters our heart and the Holy Spirit makes
His resurrection life available to us moment by moment.
Although we are not affiliated with any specific denomination,
we share with many churches around the world the same historic
Christian faith found in the Bible.
People at Eastbrook are at many different places in their
spiritual experience. Some are still investigating the Christian
faith, others are seeking to grow in their relationship with
Jesus Christ. None of us has "arrived," but we are
pursuing the goal of knowing Christ in a more authentic way.
We welcome those who are open to discovering more about Jesus
Christ and following Him.
Welcome! We are glad you have visited our web site and we
encourage you to visit our church if you don't have a church
home. May the Lord richly bless you during these exciting
days.
